Deep Sea Baby

About the project:
The performance Deep Sea Reading creates a speculative space centred on the International Seabed Authority's negotiations regarding deep-sea mining. Straddling the line between documentation and fiction, it renegotiates roles, power dynamics, and the treatment of the 'common heritage of mankind'.

Design:
Publication, promotional materials and motion design for the performance Deep Sea Baby – as well as the reading Deep Sea Reading – for performance artist Marlene Helling.

At the centre is the publication Workbook: Deep-Sea Mining, which brings together the extensive research carried out by Marlene Helling and her team. Conceived as a working document, it serves as a reference work for the artistic team while enabling the audience to delve deeper into the subject matter.

To complement this, we developed posters, flyers and motion design assets. The visual language translates the production's hybrid world into a consistent yet variable graphic system.
