KlingelZeit & Stadtrand-Buddies
About the project:
The “KlingelZeit” and “Stadtrand-Buddies” visiting and support projects provide volunteers with the opportunity to support older people in Neukölln in their daily lives. The projects are aimed at older people looking for company and assistance.
The projects aim to combat loneliness among older people and strengthen neighbourhood ties across generations.
Design:
Visual identity for 'KlingelZeit' and 'Stadtrand-Buddies', an inclusive support programme in the Neukölln district initiated by the Neuköllner Engagement Zentrum and the AWO.
The main task is to appeal equally to both target groups: older people and their potential companions. A central part of the design is alleviating doubts and fears through tips for outings or conversation, whilst simultaneously conveying information. To this end, we have developed an accessible and inviting visual language consisting of illustrative characters and pictograms that can be adapted to different needs.
Media produced so far include a folded leaflet with a district map pinpointing potential activities in the neighbourhood, as well as a bookmark and motion design assets for social media.
